The George Hotel Wins Lichfield Small Business of the Year

 The George Hotel wins a top award at the Lichfield District Beacon Awards 2023!

Businesses and community heroes from across the Lichfield District were honoured at the inaugural Beacon awards on Thursday 12th October. 

The awards scheme held by Lichfield District Council attracted 175 nominations from across 13 categories with the winners being announced at the black-tie dinner at the National Memorial Arboretum. 

The newly formed Beacon Awards celebrated the very best businesses and community heroes from across the Lichfield districts. Categories for the awards included customer service award, tourism & hospitality business of the year, apprentice of the year, best sustainable business of the year and community heroes. 

The George Hotel won the award for Small Business of the Year award for its people development, community involvement, excellent customer service and commitment to developing the hotel in the future.

Anthony Greenidge, General Manager of The George Hotel said: "The George Hotel is so proud to be part of the Lichfield community and we were thrilled to be the winners of the Small Business Award at the inaugural Lichfield District Beacon Awards.  Members of our team had a wonderful evening at the National Memorial Arboretum with The George being amongst several local businesses that also picked up awards which shows the wealth of talent we have on our doorstep."
